I can’t believe that it has just a little over 1 year since we first launched The Step Stool Chef. What a wild and amazing ride we have been on! I am so grateful to be part of such a warm and welcoming community.
Since we have only been around for 15.5 months, figured we’d share our highlights and best memories from 2014 & 2015.
Here’s our Annual(ish) Recap and Countdown of our Top 10 Best Moments:
At the Step Stool Chef, our mission is “To empower kids as leaders in the kitchen by providing tools and solutions that facilitate independence”. While the focus is on kid cooking, our true goal has been to empower kids to build leadership skills that will last a lifetime. As the Sous Chef Mommy, my goal is to inspire other parents to give their kids a safe space to take the lead, take risks and explore new skills. Our aim is to be leaders in the “Kids in the Kitchen” revolution. We believe that we get steps closer to closing in on our mission everyday!
The most rewarding part of what we do is receiving tons of pictures and emails from our fans and followers who have been inspired by our message and mission of kid empowerment & independence in the kitchen. My little chef knows most of them by name and talks about his fellow kid chefs often. You inspire us much as we inspire you!
I can’t believe the great partners we have had the privilege to work with over the past year. Since launching we’ve partnered with Side Chef as the youngest chef featured on their amazing cooking app that shares step by step recipes. We are also Official Contributors to Super Healthy Kids who are amazing partners that features recipes, ideas and meal plans that focuses on making fruits and veggies fun & delicious for kids. Plus, we partner with 11 other fabulous moms who love sharing kid-friendly recipes as much as we do through a weekly recipe round-up on Mini Chef Mondays.

We had the best time working with our friends at Creative Soul Photography who asked us to be part of their Special Edition Kid Magazine takeover. So honored to be featured in their Kidpreneur article along with other amazing young entrepreneurs making their mark in the world.
We have had some great OMGeezy moment when my little chef had a chance to cook with the best local chefs who shared their favorite recipes, tips and ideas. Private Chef Sevilla Riley shared a recipe for Taco Buddies, Chef Jason Campbell of Whole Foods shared a recipe for Baked Tilapia that was so easy and delicious and Chef Bronwen Weber of Frosted Arts Bakery & Food Network fame shared how to make fun fondant elephant toppers. Not to mention, we had a chance to make Baked Apple Bites with the Mayor. Wow… right!
4. Appearance on Good Morning Texas
I can’t believe how exciting it was to be on live TV and doing a cooking demo of our Berrylicious French Toast Casserole recipe. Everyone was so nice and did a great job making us feel very comfortable. Hope to do it again soon!
3. Being Honored as a Texan with Character
We had such a fun time with local CBS anchor Kaley O’Kelley sharing our recipe for Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze.
This was by far our most ambitious goal of the year. The number 1 question we get asked all the time is “Do you give cooking classes?” We spent HUNDREDS of hours making sure we created the most creative and innovative way to provide cooking classes for kids. The academy is designed to encourage kids and parents work together in the comfort of their own home at their own pace. If you haven’t checked it out… Do it now and sign-up today!
Thank you to all those who have supported us over the past year+. Whether you have read our posts, worked on a recipe, signed-up for our online classes or followed us on our social media pages, we have felt your love and excitement. We look forward to an amazing 2016!
