Hello Friends!

I take my role as an advocate for Kid Empowerment and Leadership very seriously.  That is why it’s always exciting when I get invited to attend conferences and workshops that allows me to network, learn from and connect with others with similar passions… particularly, the mental and physical wellness of our kids.    While teaching kids HOW to cook is critical to building leadership skills and confidence, teaching kids WHAT to cook is equally imperative.  

What is ShiftCon?

ShiftCon is an eco-wellness influencer conference focusing on food, wellness, health, sustainability and platform growth. Participants are part of community that seek healthier and more sustainable lives, promote brands that mirror their values, and help causes that speak to their soul. ShiftCon was born out of the idea that together we can create a profound impact on the world around us. They fully believe that we can literally shift the way we eat, raise our families and our impact on the environment.

ShiftCon was created to give wellness and eco-friendly influencers a place to network, share ideas, learn from experts, empower one another and organize their efforts into social change.  ShiftCon will be held December 1-3, 2016 in New Orleans, LA.  

Why I’m Excited to Attend

When I was first invited to the conference, I was a bit surprised as we don’t self-identify as “green”.  But the reality is that our message of kid empowerment through cooking goes hand-in-hand with values and mission of ShiftCon.  We have the opportunity to encourage families to learn more about where food come and how to help their kids make good decisions when it comes to food selection.  

Plus, I’m excited to connect with food brands that have a deeper commitment to transparency and health to discuss how we can empower kids to be independent and confident decision makers.  I look forward to speaking with experts in the field and bringing it what I’ve learned back to your family and kid chefs.

More importantly, I love being part of a conversation around making a collective impact in the world and can make a difference.  It reminds me of the values and motivation behind starting The Step Stool Chef. We’re on a mission to build the next generation of kid leaders.  We know that with the right support, tools and knowledge, kids can do anything they put their minds to… Just one STEP at a time!

Chef Julian has had a love for cooking since the age of 3. Now as the CEO and Head Kid Chef of The Step Stool Chef, he is focused on empowering kids to be leaders in the kitchen. Chef Julian has been featured on the covers of magazines, newspapers as well as made guest appearances on all major TV networks, conferences and food festivals and is known for his fun & easy approach to cooking.
